IEC60335-2-3 Electrical Appliance Testing Equipment Electric Irons Mechanical Strength 40mm 1000 Times Drop Test
Application:
The primary function of this Electric Iron Drop Test Apparatus is to test the mechanical strength of electric irons, excluding cordless models, by simulating real-world drop scenarios. Additionally, it evaluates the drop resistance of control devices for electric blankets, ensuring their durability and reliability.
Principle:
The testing procedure involves suspending the electric iron by its handle using a motor-driven cam mechanism. The iron is then dropped from a height of 40mm onto a rigid supporting steel plate with a thickness of at least 15mm and a mass of at least 15kg. This process is repeated 1000 times at a frequency not exceeding 20 drops per minute. During each cycle, the iron remains on the steel plate for approximately 15% of the time, mimicking actual usage conditions.
Standards:
This apparatus complies with the following international standards:
- IEC60335-2-3:2005: Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-3: Particular requirements for electric irons (Clause 21.101).
- IEC60335-2-17:2006: Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2-17: Particular requirements for blankets, pads, and similar flexible heating appliances (Clause 21.101).
