Test Procedures (Extracted from IEC 60335-1: 2016 Clause 22.16):
- Two-thirds of the cord length is reeled in. If the withdrawable length is less than 225cm, ensure that a length of 75cm remains on the reel.
- An additional length of 75cm is unreeled and pulled in a direction that maximizes abrasion on the sheath, considering the normal usage position of the appliance.
- The angle between the axis of the cord during testing and its axis when unreeled without substantial resistance should be approximately 60°.
- Allow the cord to recoil by the reel.
- If recoiling at a 60° angle is not feasible, adjust to the maximum angle that permits recoiling.
- Conduct this test for a total of 6000 cycles at approximately 30 cycles per minute or at the maximum rate allowed by the cord reel’s construction if it’s less.
Maintenance Notes:
- Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness at all times.
- Rust Prevention: Regularly apply anti-rust oil on metal parts and all standard interchangeable parts after use.
- Lubrication: Periodically add lubricating oil to all rotating parts.
